DLSMHSI named as Top 1 Performing Pharmacy School

March 20, 2019 | 10:25 am

The first batch of DLSMHSI College of Pharmacy alumni displayed a commendable performance during the March 2019  Pharmacist Licensure Examination by recording a passing percentage of 100% (33 out of 33 examinees). This makes DLSMHSI as the Top 1 Performing Pharmacy School in the Philippines under Category B with 15-49 examinees. The national passing rate this year is 64.94%.

To prepare the alumni for the licensure examination, the College of Pharmacy conducted in-house review with the help of a Review Center and arranged for the examinees to sit-in in Manila for the same review of the Center but this time with other schools so they will know their rank for the mock boards.

Congratulations and thank you to the Dean, administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel of College of Pharmacy and to the new Lasallian pharmacists for keeping the Animo alive!

College of Medicine alumni set record of 100% passing rate in the March 2019 Physician Licensure Examination

The Doctor of Medicine alumni of DLSMHSI achieved an outstanding feat in the March 2019 Physician Licensure Examination with a passing percentage of 100% for the first takers (12 passers out of 12 takers) and an over-all passing percentage of 81.25% (39 passers out of 48 takers) including the re-takers (27 passers out of 36 takers), exceptionally higher than the national passing rate of 76.57 % (1,209 out of 1,579 takers passed the exams).

DLSMHSI, following concerns and recommendations from the Board of Trustees, continues undertaking measures to improve the performance of all our graduates in all licensure examinations. As a result, the initial target of 80% passing rate for the Physician Licensure Examination has been met. Meeting our target this year and in the years to come could be attributed to several factors following the creative measures of the College of Medicine: (1) Increase in the NMAT requirement for the applicants from 40%-50% to 80%; (2) Conduct of the Mentoring and Coaching Program whereby faculty members/consultants have been assigned to a group of medical students who shall meet them regularly for some lectures, review sessions, inspirational talks, follow ups; (3) Strict implementation of the retention policy; (4) In-house review program for those who shall take the licensure exams; (5) Competency appraisal of students in all levels; (6) Remediation program for students-at-risks; (7) Tracking of unsuccessful examinees;  and (8) On-line Review Program for some CM re-takers.

Hats off to the Dean, administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel of College of Medicine and to the new Lasallian doctors for a job well done!
