31 Non-Teaching Academic Personnel are recognized for Perfect AttendanceMore than a physical manifestation of one’s presence at work, attendance is a clear and reliable measure of one’s dedication and loyalty.The Academics Division understands the importance of being mindful of one’s attendance. Thus, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics gathered all Non-Teaching Personnel on September 14, 2015 at the Wang Building to recognize those who had perfect attendance from June to August 2015. The second batch of awardees was recognized on  September 21, 2015.

An attendance is considered perfect if there is no record of tardiness, absence, and leave of absence without pay for one month. All non-teaching personnel who have no full time or permanent administrative appointments are eligible to receive the award.

Academics Division revamps its website; Alumni website goes liveEveryone is invited to check out the new look and features of the Academics Division website at http://www.dlshsi.edu.ph/academics. The website contains information about the Division as well as the Colleges and Departments under it, which students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests would find helpful and informative.DLSHSI alumni would also be pleased to know that the DLSHSI Alumni website (http://alumni.dlshsi.edu.ph/) is now live. The website contains information and linkage to services facilitated by Alumni Relations & Assistance Office. It is also ready for portal operation where alumni can register for their own accounts.
DLSHSI graduate tops Physician Licensure ExaminationDLSHSI alumna Dr. Kristel Kang Tanhui ranked 3rd in the Physician Licensure Examination held in August 2015. The passing rate recorded for DLSHSI is 86.87%.Congratulations to Dr. Tanhui, the new 172 Lasallian doctors, and the College of Medicine for a job well done!
Members of Academics Division are invited in local and international workshop and forumThree members of the Academics Division were asked to share their knowledge and expertise on professional topics early this month.Dean Alicia P. Catabay, RPh, MSc, PhD and Mr. Sigfredo B. Mata, RPh, both from College of Pharmacy, were invited as guest lecturers and workshop facilitators in the recently held Clara Aragon-Villanueva Commemorative Research Workshop at the School of Pharmacy, Philippine Women’s University, Manila, on September 2, 2015.

Library Director Efren M. Torres, Jr., MLIS shared the library’s experience on leveraging ebooks to improve user experience at the Elsevier eBooks Forum (South East Asia) with the theme “eBooks: Putting Librarians and Researchers in the Know” held on September 7-9, 2015 in Singapore.
Updates from the Fourth Academic Operations Committee (VCA Council) Meeting held on September 10, 2015

  1. Signing of Memorandum of Agreement with IIRMA Education Consultancy Private Limited as the official and authorized partner of DLSHSI to recruit international students from India. This led to an academic linkage in India and provided an opportunity to market the BS Biochemistry and Doctor of Medicine programs.
  2. Approval of Department of Education of the Special Health Sciences High School Senior High School Program
  3. Participation of College Deans, Guidance Counselor, and Library Director to the 22nd Beijing International Book Fair on August 26-30, 2015 at China International Exhibition Center, Shunyi District, Beijing
  4. Visit of librarians and staff to the 36th Manila International Book Fair on September 16-17, 2015 at SMX Convention Center, Manila
