Academics Division holds its First Semestral Performance Review, SY 2015-2016Members of the Academics Division gathered on November 4, 2015 at the De La Salle Villarosa Convention Hall to hear the performance highlights and achievements of the colleges and departments as of first semester, SY 2015-2016. Based on the documents and reports submitted by the colleges and departments and upon review of the Institutional Planning and Development Office, one department was awarded with a green star (90%-100%),  another department got a red star (1-49%)  while the rest of the colleges and departments got a yellow star (50%-89%).Vice Chancellor for Academics Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias commended the members of the Division for their outstanding performance.
De La Salle Health Sciences Institute and De La Salle University College of Computer Studies meet to discuss collaborative research opportunities The academic administrators of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute visited De La Salle University Manila on November 6, 2015 for possible collaborative research opportunities between the different colleges of the Institute and the College of Computer Studies of DLSU-Manila. This collaboration shall focus on the integration of technology particularly on computer in the field of health profession and education.
Romeo P Ariniego MD Library Services coordinates 24/7 remote access to all online resourcesThe Romeo P Ariniego MD Library Services is pleased to announce that all online resources may now be accessed anytime, anywhere through OpenAthens, an authentication service that enables users to access resources away from the institutional network via a single sign-on. This simpler and wider access intends to further support the teaching and research needs of the DLSHSI community and to encourage the use of the online resources. The service is now live and is initially available to all full-time faculty members.For queries about this service or for sign-on problems, please contact the Multimedia Librarian at ext. 1274.

Updates from the Sixth Academic Operations Committee (VCA Council) Meeting held on November 13, 2015

  1. Successful visit of CHED RQAT to the College of Rehabilitation Sciences BS Speech and Language Pathology Program and College of Pharmacy BS Pharmacy Program on November 10 and 12, 2015, respectively for their 3rd and 4th year  levels. BS Pharmacy has already been granted Government Recognition – the first in the Philippines to be given the recognition during the first visit only.
  2. Non-teaching Personnel Development Program held on November 7, 2015 with the theme “Living Out Professionalism” facilitated by Mr. Earnest Tan.
  3. Faculty and Academic Support Staff Development Program held on November 10, 2015 that focused on “Lasallian Guiding Principle: Renewal of Commitment” facilitated by Mr. Jay Gervasio. Everyone is looking forward to future seminars related to the Lasallian Guiding Principles.
  4. Sponsorship of a symposium called “Youth Voices Against HIV and AIDS” on November 20, 2015 at the De La Salle Animo Center by the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute through the College of Humanities and Sciences and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. The event was attended by the different college students from the Province of Cavite.
  5. Participation of Office of the Student Services Team at the 4th Professional Assembly of PAASA Region IVA on the theme “Enhancing Capabilities of Student Affairs and Services Practitioners” at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena, Quezon on November 19, 2015.
