Description of the Logo


THE FIVE-POINTED STAR. The Signum Fidei (Sign of Faith) star, and the official symbol used by the Institute of Brothers of the Christian Schools (FSC). CHSS adheres to the same mission bequeathed by the Holy Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, and the core values of this Institution – spirit of faith, zeal for service, communion in mission, and reverence for life.

THE SHIELD. Symbolizes protection against falsities by inculcating in our students’ critical and creative thinking skills, moral imagination, personal integrity, and compassionate stewardship of the people and the environment.

THE OPEN BOOK. Represents the acquisition and integration of knowledge from multiple disciplines and the expansion of students learning through research.

THE BROKEN CHEVRONS. From St. La Salle’s coat of arms is inspired by the family motto, Indivisa Manent, meaning permanently indivisible. It echoes the conviction of being One La Salle, emphasizing the commitment of the college, as one with the institution, towards achieving the vision of St. John Baptist De Lasalle in providing quality education to our students and instilling in them the values of fortitude, perseverance, and unity in the midst of diversity.

PSYCHOLOGY SYMBOL (Psi). The universal symbol of Psychology and considered the Science of Mental Life, first appeared around the 18th century. Psychology comes from the Greek words “Psyche” which means mind or soul and “logos” which means study, combined it is the “Study of Mind”. It encompasses various phenomena such as cognition, feelings, emotions, theories, principles, concepts, desires, and human behaviors.

The inclusion of the Psychology symbol signifies the pioneering flagship course of BS in Clinical Psychology of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

THE GLOBE AND HUMAN ICON. The globe represents the objective of producing globally- competitive Lasallians, its solid background color highlighting the stability provided by a Lasallian education, cultivating excellence in all pursuits. The human icon emphasizes the role of the college in fostering community and nurturing fellowship in service to others. The varying proportions of the circles in the icon symbolize the recognition and respect for individual differences and the strengthening of inclusivity in the practice of education.
