BS Nursing


Program Description

The BSN program of DLSMHSI molds young Filipinos into becoming Christian and compassionate health care professionals who are globally competitive and are open to community service. It envisions their faculty members and students as a community of Christian educators, learners and leaders in nursing locally and globally. DLSMHSI College of Nursing boasts of its competent pool of faculty members who utilize creative teaching methods. Students are trained using updated and state-of-the-art nursing facilities and skills laboratories simulating actual clinical practice. The College is composed of a community of educators, learners and leaders who embrace the beauty and sanctity of life by promoting the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities.

The Nursing program of DLSMHSI is PAASCU Level III re-accredited. The College has strong ties with reputable tertiary hospitals and is known for its strong community extension program. It is a school of character with a highly credible performance in the nursing licensure examination. The College of Nursing is also concerned in developing the youth towards becoming professional nurses, holistic in character, critical thinkers, and appreciative of history and culture, who shall harness the transformative powers of the communities. The Related Learning Experiences of the students are done mostly at the De La Salle University Medical Center, the base hospital of DLSMHSI. There are several affiliating hospitals in Cavite and in Manila which serve as training grounds for the nursing students from Year Level 2 to Year Level 4. Communities within the Province of Cavite are also utilized as teaching and learning avenues in order to conduct community organizing activities and provide family health care and clinic services.
