Audio Visual Technology


Unit: Academics Resources and Creative Activities

It provides audio-visual services to support the Academics such as set-up, use, and maintenance of AV equipment.

  1. Audio-Visual ServicesAudio-visual (AV) services involve the installation, set-up, use, and maintenance of AV equipment inside the classrooms during class hours or in other venues such as lecture halls or conference halls during academic activities such as meetings, seminars, and conferences. Audio-visual equipment refers to physical objects used for listening, viewing or projecting purposes such as sound system, speaker, microphone, camera, projector, and projector screen. Basic troubleshooting for AV equipment may be provided. However, maintenance and troubleshooting of computers and laptops used in projection are not included in the AV services.

Audio-visual services are regularly provided to classrooms every term based on the class schedule provided by The Registrar in a roving manner. This is a priority task of the Multimedia Technicians where they ensure that the AV equipment is ready for use before the start of each class and turns it off after the last class of the day. They shall rove around their designated classrooms to check if the AV equipment inside the classroom is working properly or if assistance is needed to operate the AV equipment in between classes.

Audio-visual services for academic activities in venues other than classrooms and outside of regular classes may be requested using the Audio-Visual Services Reservation Form. The deployment of service to such requests is subject to the approval of the RPAMDAFSC Library based on the availability of manpower, equipment, and expertise required.

  1. Photography Services – Photo coverage is provided to academic activities within and outside of the Institute using the Audio-Visual Services Reservation Form. The deployment of service to such requests is subject to the approval of the RPAMDAFSC Library based on the availability of manpower, equipment, and expertise required. Raw files shall be provided to the requesting College or Department. No filtering or post-processing of photographs shall be done. The requesting College or Department should provide the medium to which the raw files shall be saved.
  1. Videography Services – Video coverage is provided to academic activities within and outside of the Institute using the Audio-Visual Services Reservation Form. The deployment of service to such requests is subject to the approval of the RPAMDAFSC Library based on the availability of manpower, equipment, and expertise required. Raw files shall be provided to the requesting College or Department. No editing or post-processing of the video shall be done. The requesting College or Department should provide the medium to which the raw files shall be saved.
  1. Lending of Audio-Visual Equipment – Audio-visual equipment is available at the RPAMDAFSC Library and may be borrowed for academic purposes on a first-come, first-served basis using the Equipment Liability Form. The approval of such requests is subject to the decision of the RPAMDAFSC Library based on the availability of manpower, equipment, and expertise required. Cameras may not be borrowed without an assisting Multimedia Technician.
