John 12:44-47

Date posted: May 6, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 12:44-47
And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And he
who sees me sees him who sent me. I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may
not remain in darkness. If any one hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did
not come to judge the world but to save the world.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us that the Lord is our light and salvation. It is the darkness of unbelief and rejection – not
only of the Son who came into the world to save it – but rejection of the Father who offers us healing and
reconciliation through his Son, Jesus Christ. Psalm 27 exclaims, “The light of Christ removes the darkness
and reveals the goodness of God to us”. The Word of God has power to set us free from sin, doubt, and
deception. Have you experienced this kind of darkness? If yes, How?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, Zeal is… “a passionate commitment to realize God’s will…” In relation to the gospel, we
Lasallians are challenged to become light and hope to those people who are in the lowest moment of their
life. May we encourage each other to be the spark of God’s hope and love to everyone and serve like our
father founder did to the children and his brothers during his time.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
