John 14: 22-26

Date posted: May 11, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 14: 22-26
Jesus answered and said to him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and
we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words;
yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. I have told you this while I am with
you. The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name–he will teach you everything and
remind you of all that (I) told you.”

Reflection
The Gospel tells us that if we love him, then, we will observe the commandments. However, it is easy for
us to look for love elsewhere with the use of on-line applications and social media. We crave it to the point
that we almost beg it from others when all this time Jesus and God already love us constantly. How can we
encounter and experience God using our gadgets or social media?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, Zeal is… “a passionate commitment to realize God’s will which, in Lasallian terms, is the
integral liberation and salvation of all, especially the youth and the poor.” As the famous saying goes,
action speaks louder than words and these actions to share God’s love would not be without passion that
God has implanted in each one of us. This zeal is not only for us to share to others but also for us to
improve on ourselves so that we would be able to share better God’s blessing to others.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
