John 14:18-21

Date posted: May 17, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 14:18-21
“I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but
you will see me; because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you
in me, and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who
loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Reflection
The gospel talks about the value of communion. Communion is the result of love relationship. The very
principle that holds everyone in communion is none other the principle of love. This kind of love do not just
command anyone to follow the Divine Will since it becomes part of someone’s nature or being who is in
communion with God. Have you experienced this communion with God? How?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “In De La Salle’s thinking, faith and zeal are inseparable, two dimensions of one spirit.”
Faith is like a candle. It has no meaning until it is lighted. This energy that causes the wick to burn is like
zeal. The lighted candle will continue to give light because those two elements are present to each other.
Let us share our lighted candles especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
