John 15:12-15

Date posted: May 14, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 15:12-15
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than
this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.”

Reflection
The gospel narratives presented to us Jesus giving this directive to His disciples, “that you loved one
another as I have loved you.” Love is the greater gift that surpasses sins and enables us to do good and
care for the wellness of others. Just like Jesus did when He sacrificed his own life for us, it is the call for
us to return this favor to others. Let us offer simple sacrifices to spread love and peace. When was the
last time you helped someone who is really poor? Why is it meaningful to you?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, Zeal is “a passionate commitment to realize God’s will which, in Lasallian terms, is the
integral liberation and salvation of all, especially the youth and the poor.” As Lasallians, we are challenged
to express our love and compassion to others just like what Jesus told to His disciples “… that you love
one another as I have loved you.” May this word inspire us to become selfless servants for the Lasallian
mission.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
