John 16:19-20

Date posted: May 21, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 16:19-20
Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I
meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see
me’?    Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief
will turn to joy.”

Reflection
Jesus explains to the disciples about His real purpose and mission why He was sent by the Father. He
prepares eternal life for us not on earth but in His heavenly Kingdom. The sacrifices of Jesus saved us
from our sins and enable us to become worthy to enter the Kingdom of God. Our life is temporary but the
true happiness is eternal. How can we experience this eternity while we are still here on earth?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “In De La Salle’s thinking, faith and zeal are inseparable, two dimensions of one spirit.”
This means that one will die without the other. Faith and zeal give birth to a wonderful and joyful
community. One is forming the minds and hearts and the other manifest the learning into great programs in
the community.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
