John 16:23-24

Date posted: May 23, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 16:23-24
Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will
give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy
may be complete.”

Reflection
In the Gospel, Jesus said to his disciples, “Whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give you.’’
This means that in order to become closer to God, we must first believe and accept Jesus as our Lord and
Savior. We must live by faith in Jesus. If only through Jesus can we be truly saved, in what way do we
strengthen our faith in God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal is the expression of faith in service to human need.” LGP also defines Zeal as “the
desire to be of greater service to others conditions the quest for excellence and continuous self-
improvement.” Just like St. John Baptist de La Salle who had a great love for God that led him to dedicate
his whole life in serving the Lord, the poor and the youth. As Lasallians, we should continue to provide
service to those in need and strengthen their faith to take part in God’s plan.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
