John 16:32-33

Date posted: May 25, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 16:32-33
Jesus answered them, “Do you believe now? Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when each of
you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father
is with me. I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but
take courage, I have conquered the world.”

Reflection
Jesus said in the Gospel, “In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the
world." This emphasizes the trust one should have in Him especially during challenging times. One timely
example is the COVID-19 crisis we are experiencing. Now that we are going through an extremely
challenging period of time, how can we hold on to our faith?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal is the expression of faith in service to human need.” It focuses on the salvation of
people – especially the poor and the excluded. As Lasallians, we can show this by going on an “extra mile”
willingly. As much as we can, we can extend the services we have to offer by donations, engaging in social
work such as repacking relief goods, reaching out to the less fortunate. As Lasallians, we do these things
with compassion, commitment, and pure generosity.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
