John 17:11-12

Date posted: May 27, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 17:11-12
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying: "Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have
given me, so that they may be one just as we are. When I was with them, I protected them in your name
that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order
that the scripture might be fulfilled.”

Reflection
The gospel speaks about the wonderful prayer of Jesus addressed to His Father. As God’s children, we
also need to carry our cross and let Jesus lead the way. Let us follow Him. He will give us the strength and
guidance while we fulfill our purpose . While these horrible things are happening in the world right now,
how can we say that God is still with us?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal is the expression of faith in service to human need.” In the gospel, Jesus
demonstrated how He protected us. He served us to the highest level that no one was lost. As Lasallians,
we can express this by extending a “helping hand” especially these days. We show passion in helping
those who are in need. Encourage and take part in donations, programs, and activities that will benefit the
less fortunate and the needy.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
