John 17:20-23

Date posted: May 28, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 17:20-23
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: “I pray not only for them, but also for those who will
believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that
they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you
gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to
perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved
me.”

Reflection
Jesus prayed to God with full conviction that we may be one with Him. Today, we are faced with tons of
challenges. One of these is the COVID-19. During this pandemic, we must believe that God will take care
of us and will be merciful and compassionate to us. Let us not forget that the Lord will keep us safe and
secured, and all we have to do is to lift up our worries to Him. What are your doubts and worries?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal is the expression of faith in service to human need.” St. John Baptist himself helped
a lot of oppressed. He did those things although there were struggles along way. As Lasallians, we
witness a lot of outreach programs and projects that manifest the Lasallian value, “Zeal for Service.'' I
believe that, it is the heart that works the greatest during these times, for it involves a preferential concern
for the poor and the vulnerable.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
