John 6:56-58

Date posted: June 14, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 6:56-58
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I
live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down
from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”

Reflection
The bread of life symbolizes the word of God. The body of Christ in a form of bread that should be shared
with everyone so they may have life. Jesus assures our salvation. We just need to take Jesus in our life and
believe. He is the bread of life. Jesus strengthen us and nourishes us not only physically but spiritually.
Every day we are thankful for the gift of life. In what way do we accept God as life-giving principle in our
life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Avenues and opportunities for self-propelled individual, collective and institutional life-
affirming action to respond to varied social issues must be provided in every Lasallian institution.” As
Lasallian who upholds its principles, we are God’s shepherds who values life. We do not neglect unfortunate
and unjust situations in life and to contribute instead. ”So teach us to number our days, that we may present
to You a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). As Lasallians, we are one community who works hand in hand
and does not waste any time uplifting the dignity of human life.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
