John 6,60-69

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 6,60-69
When many of his disciples heard it, they said, ‘This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?’ But Jesus, being aware that his
disciples were complaining about it, said to them, ‘Does this offend you? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man
ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are
spirit and life. But among you there are some who do not believe.’ For Jesus knew from the first who were the ones that did
not believe, and who was the one that would betray him. And he said, ‘For this reason I have told you that no one can come to
me unless it is granted by the Father.’ Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him.
So Jesus asked the twelve, ‘Do you also wish to go away?’ Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom we shall go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.’

Reflection
We can remember big and small choices in life. Job, marriage, retirement, redundancy and many more affect our life totally.
We can also include choices for our own children that may affect their lives such as school where they could study and learn
or even moving from one house to another. Life is made up of big and small choices. In order to choose the best we need to
have the belief of Simon Peter that Jesus speaks the words of eternal life. We need to fill our lives with the Word of Jesus Christ and share it others through our humble yet simple services to them. Do I still choose the way of the Lord?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, Zeal is… “a passionate commitment to realize God’s will…” This then will move each one to render service to
them without counting the cost. Following His Words of everlasting life, we are always being called by Jesus to continue
respecting human life and respect the environment for this is our implication of love. When we see things with the eyes of faith
we see life as precious. Let us allow ourselves as heralds of outstanding choice in our lives following the way of the Lord.

MISSION PRAYER 2021 Year of Missio Ad Gentes CBCP
God, our loving Father, You sent your Son into the world to proclaim the Good News of Salvation to all: to sinners, the poor,
oppressed, the sick, the abandoned and neglected. He gave His life on the Cross for us and rose again to new life to redeem
us and reconcile us with you. You sent Your Holy Spirit to the Apostles to continue the work of Your Son and to lead all to
salvation. We thank you, Father, for bringing us from darkness into light. Through Your loving plan, 500 years ago,
missionaries came to our land to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, Your Son, to our ancestors that made us Your people and the
Church. The gift of faith has accompanied us through both darkness and lights, defeats and victories of our history as Your
people. Our faith has become for us true light that shines in the darkness. Renew in us the grace of your Spirit that impels us
to be witnesses of Jesus, Your Son, to a world broken by greed, violence, injustice, sickness and suffering. May our faith bring
us to unity as your children to care for and love one another. May the Holy Spirit empower us to be proclaimers of the Good
News to our brothers and sisters in Asia and to all nations. Give us the sincere desire to help others to come to faith in the
Lord Jesus to share in Your joy and life. May the Blessed Mother, the Star of Evangelization, accompany us and pray for us as
we live and share our faith with others. May our strong love and devotion to her as our Mahal na Ina form us to be true
disciples and witnesses of Jesus to all, always ready to be sent, and to be obedient to whatever Jesus asks of us. We ask this
through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
