Luke 10, 25-37

Date posted: October 5, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 10, 25-37
There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test Jesus and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us how to inherit God’s Kingdom. And to enter in that Kingdom, the only key is Love – Love of God and Love
of neighbour. It is not about intelligence on how we interpret the law rather it is in loving unconditionally that we find ourselves
worthy of God’s Kingdom. How do we express our love for God and neighbor especially during this pandemic?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, the “spirit of faith provides an opportunity to discover God’s dynamic presence through his Words…” The fruit
of prayer becomes the act of love for our neighbour. It is in prayer that we find ourselves in love with God and propels us to
concretize those prayers in the spirit of humble service for others; a life-giving for the benefit of all. As Lasallians, we need to be
empowered by the same spirit. Let us allow ourselves to be the spark of light and beacon of hope. Radiating God’s immense
love wherever we are and to whatever we do.

ORATIO IMPERATA on the threat of COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus, That has claimed lives and has affected many.
We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace to work for the good of all
And to help those in need.
Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
