Luke 11, 1-4

Date posted: October 7, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 11, 1-4
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us how Jesus calls his Father using simple words. Steadfast relationship does not need flowery words to be
heard. The simple the better. Praying to our Heavenly Father does not demand grand opening salvo for one to be heard. Just
be simple like a child calling for his father for supplication and aid. How do we pray? Do I imitate Jesus’s kind of prayer?
Lasallian Guiding Principle:
As stated in the LGP, the spirit of faith provides an opportunity to discover God’s dynamic presence through his Words. The
simple art of prayer carries our identity as child of God. That identity does not demand on the content of prayer rather on the
kind of relationship that one have. So much so that prayer become more simple yet intense. As Lasallians, we need to carry
out our identity as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. Let us imitate Jesus, as the model and master in prayer.

ORATIO IMPERATA on the threat of COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus, That has claimed lives and has affected many.
We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace to work for the good of all
And to help those in need.
Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
