Luke 11, 29-32

Date posted: October 12, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 11, 29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but
no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she
came from the ends of the earth to hear the Wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they
repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us about Jonah’s sign to the Ninevites. Jonah’s faithfulness led him to answer the call and served as the
ultimate sign of God on that generation. And to confirm that sign, Jesus’ public ministry and presence during his time and even
in this present is the sign that the Heavenly Father is giving us. Where do I see the signs of God in my life? Do I possess that
sign?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the “spirit of faith provides an opportunity to discover God’s dynamic presence through his Words.” The
sign that we are looking for is no other than Jesus itself. As Lasallians, we need to carry that sign so others may see and that
Jesus’s presence may found in our midst. Allow Jesus to live in our hearts forever.

ORATIO IMPERATA on the threat of COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus, That has claimed lives and has affected many.
We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace to work for the good of all
And to help those in need.

Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
