September 6, 2022 (Tuesday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 6,12-19
Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God. When the day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them, he chose Twelve, whom he also named apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. And he came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground. A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases, and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured. Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.

Reflection
The gospel tells us that Jesus prayed first before he chose the twelve apostles. We are reminded, that before we come up
with a decision especially if it is a hard one, we need to pray and ask for guidance. Sometimes, when our mind and heart are filled with overwhelming emotions, we find it hard to decide. How do I decide things for my life? What is my usual practice when making a hard decision?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “the spirit of faith is a “spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out his saving plan.” God has his plans for each and every one of us. He knows our strengths and weaknesses in order for us to work with his plans. Saint John Baptist de La Salle shows us that there are two sides of the world we live in. In order to put faith in where we stand today we must know God’s plan. The plan in the making is all that could happen or is happening, negative or positive, in the present or the future. It is the pathway to the end, where God’s real plan for us is already in place. Saint John Baptist De La Salle reminds us that however hard it is to keep following what God says and no matter how painful the process is, we do not stop trusting God. De La Salle knows how worth the wait would be. Let us put our faith in the Lord.

Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
