September 7, 2022 (Wednesday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 6,20-26
Raising his eyes toward his disciples Jesus said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.”

Reflection
The Gospel reminds us that despite all of the challenges we faced in this life’s battlefield, we are continuously blessed by our God, who is full of grace and mercy. In this life on Earth, some are fortunate enough to feed themselves with three full meals and be able to live under their own roofs while others cannot. Some are crying their hearts out because of pain and grief while others shout for joy. Jesus calls on each one of us, especially those who are capable to give, offer, and share what they can to those who are in need—may it be financially, physically, emotionally, or mentally. As an individual, how am I going to respond to this calling?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “the spirit of faith is a “spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out his saving plan.” In relation to the gospel, both are portraying to our faith in God. He will never leave nor forsake us. Challenges and
circumstances determines the level of our faith in him. Just like what Saint John Baptist De La Salle did in his life, he was born into a rich family but chose to follow the will of God in humility and helped those in need, especially the children. This proves that wealth means nothing if we lack spirituality and do not use these resources for the betterment of others. As Lasallians, we are reminded of our core values, be contented with what we have now, and follow the footsteps of God for these will lead us to the real richness of our lives.

Prayer
Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
