Luke 6,36-38

Date posted: March 6, 2023

March 6, 2023 (Monday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 6,36-38
Jesus said to his disciples: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”

Reflection:
The biblical verse, “For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you” means whatever we do unto others could turn into a blessing or a curse. Today’s gospel tells us that there is a such principle as interconnectedness. If we have shared love, then, we could have experienced that kind love in the first place. If we have shared kindness, then, we could have experienced the kindness of other people. In this Lenten Season, how do we measure kindness?

Lasallian Guiding Principle:
LGP states that, “As a member of a community, of the nation, and of the global village, Lasallian institutions must work in solidarity with people and institutions that share the conviction in denouncing and working towards the elimination of unjust practices…” Doing good and showing compassion to others wholeheartedly are two important traits that are promoted by the gospel. SJBDLS visibly exhibited the said traits when he surrendered everything out of love of God and other people as well. Just like our founder, we, Lasallians, are challenged to be of service to others, especially to those who really deserve it.

Prayer:
Synod on Synodality Prayer

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.

St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
