Luke 7:31-32

Date posted: September 16, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 7:31-32
Jesus said to the crowds: “To what shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they
like? They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, “We played the flute
for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.”

Reflection
There is joy in hearing the gospel, an invitation for us to gather and celebrate the presence of one
another. It also tells us that as we grow older, we should open our hearts more in listening to the
Word of God. That even when our life gets rough, we have each other to cheer us up and our God
who is willing to lift our spirit. How do we follow the tune of our lives?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the spirit of faith allows one to discover God’s active presence in his Word, in
men and women, in the poor, in nature, in history, and in ourselves. Therefore, the challenge for us
Lasallians is to contemplate on the things we’ve done and try to figure out how God works and
blesses our lives.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
