Luke 8:1-3

Date posted: September 18, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 8:1-3
After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of
the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil
spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the
wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were
helping to support them out of their own means.

Reflection
The gospel for today tells us that everyone is welcome to follow Jesus’s footsteps. It reminds us that
God is willing to embrace us fully despite of our insufficiencies and sins we’ve done in our lives. It is
because what matters to Him is the kindness we show to others and our eagerness to follow Him
wholeheartedly. How do we follow God’s teaching?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the spirit of faith allows one to discover God’s active presence in his Word, in
men and women, in the poor, in nature, in history, and in ourselves. Therefore, the challenge for us
Lasallians is to contemplate on the things we’ve done and try to figure out how God works and
blesses our lives.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
