Luke 9, 18-22

September 23, 2022 (Friday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 9, 18-22
Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.'”; Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Messiah of God.” He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone. He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

Reflection
The Gospel tells that, each of us is called to be a corner stone to empower the lives of people around us. As what Jesus
revealed, he gave the authority to Peter to be the leader in building the community of faith and worship. Let us do all we can to prepare ourselves like Peter. Am I a worthy leader for others in leading them to Jesus?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, the spirit of faith is a “spirit that allows one to unite one’s actions to the ongoing saving action of God in the world.” As Lasallians, we must always be considerate of other people, as we all go through different struggles in life. We must also help and encourage each other to be better as a community. Let us allow ourselves to be modern Peter’s in this trying times.

Prayer
Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
