Luke 9: 43-45

Date posted: September 26, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 9: 43-45
While they were all amazed at his every deed, he said to his disciples, “Pay attention to what I am
telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” But they did not understand this saying;
its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask
him about this saying.

Reflection
After the disciples witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus, which is indeed a divine experience, they
were shocked and failed to understand what Jesus is telling. As Christians, we are called to be
critical and give ourselves time to reflect on the deeper meaning of what we are experiencing.
In spite of what is happening in our lives, how do we value the Word of God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the “spirit of faith allows one to discover God’s active presence in his Word, in
men and women, in the poor, in nature, in history, and in ourselves.” Faith isn’t just a notion that
some people hold onto in tough times. As Lasallians, we must embody the spirit of faith because it
will help us to get us through, illuminating the pathway in times of darkness, helping us to get through
weakness. For without faith, we are nothing.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
