Mark 6:30-34

Date posted: February 3, 2023

February 4, 2023 (Saturday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mark 6:30-34
The apostles gathered around Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come away
to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure
even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. Now many saw them going and
recognized them, and they hurried there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them. As he went ashore,
he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he
began to teach them many things.

Reflection
The gospel tells us that Jesus’ teachings may ease the exhausted, who deserve to pause for a while to hear Him.
We lift everything to Jesus, for he is concerned about our comfort. He is our shepherd, always willing to share his
words with the people. Am I ready to rest in Jesus’ arms and learn from Him?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states, “As a member of a community, of the nation, and of the global village, Lasallian institutions must work in solidarity with peoples and institutions that share the conviction in denouncing and working towards the elimination of unjust practices…”
As Lasallians, we are guided by the foundation of Lasallian Core Values that we carry in executing our duties and missions in the community. Together with these values, let us allow ourselves to imbibe the teachings of God and be rooted in our hearts in performing good practices that benefit society.

Prayer
Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and
what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son,
forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
