Matthew 10:16-20

Date posted: July 10, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 10:16-20
Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as
doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you
will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the
Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say,
for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your
Father speaking through you.

Reflection
The gospel for today speaks about shepherding. As followers of Christ, we were tasked to spread the word
of God to others. And as we go through life, we will encounter many challenges that will make us feel
weak. But Jesus reminded us not to be anxious or afraid because God will never abandon us in our
journey. He will assure us that we will receive the merit of the life everlasting. What are the challenges that
we experienced in following the will of God? How do you face them?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who take progressive responsibility for
their own learning and development.” As Lasallians, we are called by God to become instruments to make
His unconditional love be felt by others especially by the least, the lost and the last. Therefore, we are
challenged to continue on pursuing the mission of Christ using the learnings we gained in school and working
in our institution.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
