Matthew 10:7-10

Date Posted: July 9, 2020 | 1:00 am

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 10:7-10
Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand. ‘Cure
the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you
are to give.” Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts; no sack for the journey, or a second tunic,
or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep.

Reflection
The gospel tells about the disciple’s mission, to bring peace and healing to all. Jesus tells them clearly to
help people freely and unconditionally and prepare everyone for the coming of the Kingdom of God. In this
situation we are now experiencing, Jesus invites us to bring peace and healing to all as we continue our fight
against COVID-19. Let us not focus on our hardships instead focus on God’s Kingdom. How can we
experience God’s reign in the midst of a pandemic?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who take progressive responsibility for
their own learning and development.” In relation to the gospel, Jesus gives the responsibility to the disciples
to share and spread the values of the Kingdom. SJBDLS shares this same mission to the De La Salle
Brothers and Lasallian institutions. As Lasallians, we are challenged to show our love more during this
pandemic.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
