Matthew 10:7-13

Date posted: June 11, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 10:7-13
Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure
the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you
are to give.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us about unconditional love and selfless service. “Wala ng libre ngayon” is a common
saying most people tell because of the crisis we are facing right now. Jesus reminds us that doing good
things does not require anything in return. It is better to give than to receive. This is what DLSP’s “Kada
Uno” campaign is all about. We will experience true happiness when we help those people who are greatly
in need. How did you feel afterwards when you helped someone without expecting anything in return?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Avenues and opportunities for self-propelled individual, collective and institutional life-
affirming action to respond to varied social issues must be provided in every Lasallian institution.” Br. Armin Luistro FSC is one great example of this principle. We do not see him only during the early days of the
pandemic but he is seen everywhere especially if there are issues like human rights violations. His example
is one manifestation of how we must live out this Lasallian value, reverence for life.

Prayer of Lasallians in the time of COVID-19
Loving Father,
our Lasallian Family draws near to you
in fervent prayer for all those affected by COVID-19.
In FAITH, we lift up to you our fears and anxieties
and the sufferings of those who have been infected
always remembering that even in our darkest hours
we are in your most holy presence.
In SERVICE, we beg you for strength and wisdom
to do all that needs to be done
knowing that we can be channels of your healing grace
when we do all our actions for the love of you.
In COMMUNION, we stand in solidarity
with all the frontliners who risk their lives for others
and pray for all medical teams and support personnel
who earnestly seek its cure
and provide remedy and comfort
to those who are sick and most vulnerable.
Most loving Father we entrust our lives
and the health and well-being
of our families and communities
to your care and protection
for with you we will be safe and secure. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
