Matthew 11:28-30

Date posted: June 19, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and
learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy,
and my burden light.”

Reflection
The gospel is about humility, simplicity and pride. Jesus lived a very simple life, and we, as Christians, must
follow Him. Simplicity of heart is an expression of one’s humility and a virtuous life. And when we are tired
in responding to God’s call, Jesus offers us comfort and love through His presence and love for us. Do you
trust in God with your whole heart? How do we entrust our lives to God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Actions must always be life-affirming.” During this time of the year, problems and
challenges have multiplied exceedingly, so we, Lasallians, are challenged to manifest the core values and
principles instilled within us. All of us are tired in the battle we now face against this pandemic. As Lasallians,
we are reminded to entrust ourselves to Him. In this way, we can continue our mission.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
