Matthew 12:14-18

Date posted: July 18, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

 Matthew 12:14-18
The Pharisees went out and conspired against Jesus, how to destroy him. When Jesus became aware of
this, he departed. Many crowds followed him, and he cured all of them, and he ordered them not to make him known. This was to fulfil what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us that despite life’s adversities, we must strengthen our faith in God. We shouldn’t let others bring us down or oppress us, but rather, we should always seek God’s guidance and strength to complete our lives and heal us from our sins. During the pandemic, how do we see God in our life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian educational experiences are dynamic processes that impel learners to translate their knowledge into actual practice for the betterment of society.” In relation to the gospel, we should be more compassionate and caring to others. As Lasallians, we should not only think for ourselves but also for the better good of the masses. We should always remember to practice selflessness and service to our fellow brothers and sisters as we strengthen our faith in God.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
