Matthew 13, 44-46

Date posted: July 26, 2022

July 27, 2022 (Wednesday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 13, 44-46
Jesus said to his disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it”

Reflection
The gospel is telling us that in this parable the treasure of the kingdom refers to the kingdom of God in all its aspects. But in a special way, the Lord himself is the treasure we seek for. The thing we most set our heart on is our highest treasure. Is the Lord the treasure and delight of my heart?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “The goal of social development interventions is to preserve and bring forth the fullness of life.” As
Lasallians,
we believe that we can preserve and bring forth the fullness of live if we have faith in Jesus. We must always keep and
love Him above all things. Let us allow Jesus live in our hearts, always and forever.

Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
