Matthew 14:28-31

Date posted: August 9, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 14:28-31
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water:“ “Come,” he said. Then Peter got
down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was
afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and
caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Reflection
The gospel for today gives us a guarantee that if we continue to hold on to our faith, Jesus will help us to
reach the fullness of our lives. It is also a gentle reminder for us that we should never allow ourselves to be
imprisoned by our doubts because we have a God who is willing and waiting for us to be saved. Is there any
point in your life where you have experienced that you surrendered everything to God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that,” Lasallian educational experiences are dynamic processes that impel learners to translate
their knowledge into actual practice for the betterment of society.” As Lasallians, we are challenged to
think bigger and aim for the common good of humanity. In doing so, we are able to make the people who
are least in the community feel that God doesn’t set a border that divides but He is stretching out His
hands that welcomes all.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
