Matthew 17:19-20

Date posted: August 8, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 17:19-20
Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” He said to them,
“Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to
this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Reflection
This Gospel highlighted the importance of one’s faith. It also reminds us how compassionate and
understanding God is. But then again, we are challenged to deepen our faith and use it as the source of our
strength to surpass the challenges in our lives. Faith in Him is the only thing in this world that is stronger
than any fear, doubt and negativity. How far can our faith go to hold us all together?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that,” Lasallian educational experiences are dynamic processes that impel learners to translate
their knowledge into actual practice for the betterment of society.” As Lasallians, we are challenged to think
bigger and aim for the common good of humanity. In doing so, we are able to make the people who are
least in the community feel that God doesn’t set a border that divides but He stretching out His hands that
welcomes all.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
