Matthew 22, 1-14

Date posted: October 11, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 22, 1-14
“The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.
He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they refused to come.
Then he said to his servants, ‘The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come.
Many are invited, but few are chosen.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us on the kind of response made by the targeted guests on the king’s invitation for a feast. Most of them said
no; and refusing one’s invitation serves as insult to the king. Too many alibis were made to decline one’s invitation. There is a
saying that if one wants that feast, one may easily accept the invitation, but if not, there are millions of reasons to refuse from
that invitation. Are we ready to say yes to God’s invitation?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the “spirit of faith provides an opportunity to discover God’s dynamic presence through his Words…”
Saying yes to God’s invitation leads us to the core of our life’s fulfilment. In union with God. As Lasallians, we are being
challenge by the Gospel as to what kind of response are we going to make. Let us allow ourselves to be eager in responding
God’s invitation.

ORATIO IMPERATA on the threat of COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against the COVID-19 Virus, That has claimed lives and has affected many.
We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace to work for the good of all
And to help those in need.
Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
