Matthew 5,38-42

June 13, 2022 (Monday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 5,38-42
Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer
no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on (your) right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone
wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile,
go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.”

Reflection
The gospel for today is our standard with our behavior and attitude. Attitude is very important because it is rooted in one’s
innate goodness. A good attitude is served when we help, love others, and respect their feelings. And our behavior is our
action being kind and pleasant to others. If someone insults you or tries to take advantage of you, how do you respond?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
GP states that, “Avenues and opportunities for self-propelled individual, collective and institutional life-affirming action to respond to varied social issues must be provided in every Lasallian institution.” As Lasallians, we are called to love the least, the lost, and the last by lifting our underprivileged brothers and sisters and helping them with their needs. Our founder
SJBDLS built a school for the poor boys, and so being a part of one of his schools, we must practice what he had started. Let us allow ourselves in reaching out to our brothers and sisters.

Synod on Synodality
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
