Matthew 7,7-12

Date posted: March 2, 2023

March 2, 2023 (Thursday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 7,7-12
Jesus said to his disciples: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asks for a fish? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him. Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.”

Reflection:
The gospel is all about how God will give us “good gifts” if we ask, seek, and knock to his door. We may probably feel that there lots of times when our prayers seem to be unheard or unanswered. Although, if we keep on praying, asking, and seeking, good things will happen. It’s just that God knows the best and right time to give. How did you respond when your prayers seemed to go unanswered for a long time?

Lasallian Guiding Principle:
LGP states that, “As a member of a community, of the nation, and of the global village, Lasallian institutions must work in solidarity with people and institutions that share the conviction in denouncing and working towards the elimination of unjust practices…” In relation to our founder St. John Baptist de La Salle, he keeps on holding his faith in God and pray before he makes a move. God gave him strength when he needed it most. As part of the Lasallian community, the challenge we are facing today is lack of connection to God. Most of us forget to ask God and be thankful for what we have because of our busy schedule but we can still pray anywhere because anywhere or any place can be a sacred place as long as we are sincere to what we are asking.

Prayer:
Synod on Synodality Prayer

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.

St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
