Matthew 9:18-22

Date posted: July 6, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

 Matthew 9:18-22
While he was thus speaking to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples. And behold, a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment; for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I shall be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.

Reflection
“Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well”, the gospel speaks about faith and hope. Both hope
and faith of the woman healed her. Right now, we are facing this dilemma, this pandemic. We are all afraid of this virus, but God is in control, just hope and pray that this will be over. We should not lose our hope in times of trouble, challenges, and problems. We need to lift all to God and trust Him. Do you need healing right now? What are going to do to be healed?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who express concern and compassion for the plight of the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society and respond to their needs.” In relation to the gospel, the faith of the woman heals her through Jesus’ power. As Lasallians, we know that aside from the doctors and nurses, we rely more on God’s tender and loving care. May we continue our mission of saving lives especially the most vulnerable. Let us practice our Lasallian spirit of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
