CM students win Best Paper Award at WFME 2019

CM students Hannah Mae Ramos, Joeffrey Mambucon, Carla Mae Mendoza, Zerez Lei Mercado, Leah Me Pascual, Maureen Quinto, Kristian Kolen Orleans, John Carlos Sioson, and Daniel Carlo Wong won the Best Paper Award at the World Federation for Medical Education World Conference for their presentation of their paper entitled “Anxiety Level of First Year Medical Students of DLSMHSI and Mentor- mentee Program in Varied Frequency of Meetings: A Comparative Study.” They were accompanied by their dean, Dr. Madeleine M. Sosa who is also a co-presentor of the study.


Held on April 7-10, 2019 at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul, in Seoul, South Korea, the conference also saw
the presentations of the following papers by medical faculty from DLSMHSI:

• “Level of Acceptance of DLSHSI Faculty in Simulation As a Teaching Learning Strategy” by Alex P. Bello and Madeleine Grace M. Sosa
• “icPEdS as an Alternative Learning Platform for Pediatricians in Southern Tagalog” by Crisphin Casubha
• “Basic Delivery Skills Training and the Teaching Performance of Pediatric Residents” by Karen Grace Santos
• “Quality Assurance of Philippine Medical Schools: Setting Standards in Basic Medical Education” by Aurora Bauzon, Ramon Arcadio, Liberato Dela Rosa, Dina Gonzales (DLSMHSI), Isidro Sia, John Domantay, Reynaldo Olazo

Co-hosted by the Korea University College of Medicine and the Korean Council on Medical Education, the WFME World Conference 2019 is a venue for the discussion of the future standards of post-graduate medical education and models of quality and regulation in medical education.
