The Center for Community Development and Service-Learning (CCDSL) is designed to complement community health-related and service-learning projects or programs of students and faculty members, enhanced through collaboration with the members of the adopted or partner communities in Cavite and its neighboring provinces.
The Center is strongly supported by the Administration of DLSMHSI and actively participated in by committed faculty members and students from the different Colleges and by the academic teaching faculty of the Community Health Development Program (CHDP) of CCDSL.
The health services component delivered by the students and faculty members from the medical and other allied health care programs includes promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care; not discounting the benefits of traditional, complementary, and alternative medicine, which maybe inherently existing in the adopted or partner communities.
The academic teaching faculty and the students engaged in community service are expected to demonstrate the 5-Star Lasallian attributes: social mobilizer, researcher, health care provider, educator, and manager.
