MAJOR

  • Assist enrolled International Students in the Extension of Visa at the Bureau of Immigration and other legal documentary moments
  • Assist enrolled International Students in processing of Quarantine at the Bureau of Quarantine, securing of clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation
  • Coordinate with the Center for Language Training and Professional Development concerns of the International Students as regards the Language (Filipino/English) Proficiency requirements
  • Enable to join and accompany International Students in the local and international conferences or competitions
  • Provide activities for the development of the International Students’ multicultural sensitivity attributes.

MINOR

  • Assist International students in the campus tour.
  • Assist colleges in preparation for off-campus activities.

INFORMATION

Visa Information — all international students must have a valid student visa to study at DLSMHSI. They must apply for and obtain their visa prior to their arrival.

  • Tourist Visa – all temporary visitors, regardless of nationality and not otherwise disqualified, who wish to extend his/her tourist visa during the last thirty (30) days of the previously issued Long-Stay Visitor Visa Extension, or upon the expiry of a regular visa extension. The total duration of extension shall be not more than six (6) months from the time of expiration of authorized stay.
  • Student Visa is issued to foreign students 18 years old and above and is taking a course higher than high school.
  • Special Study Permit – Foreign nationals who do not qualify for a Student Visa may still avail themselves of a special study permit. SSP is issued to a foreign national below the age of 18 and/or taking non-degree courses in the Philippines. A SSP is a PERMIT, not a visa. It is issued under the Temporary Visitor’s Visa of a foreign national.
  • Conversion to Student Visa – all foreign nationals who are 18 years old and shall take up a course of study higher than high school at a University, seminary or college
  • Extension of Student Visa – Foreign nationals who are holders of an existing Student Visa and wish to continue his study in the Philippines.

Banking Need Assistance –  to open a bank account in the Philippines, international students must have an ACR I-card (Alien Certificate of Registration Card). They may be able to open an account with just their passport and another form of ID other than the ACR. Some banks will accept an Immigration Certificate of Registration (ICR) as proof of their residency. They will have to go to the bank in person to open an account.

Off-Campus Living Assistance (Arranging Accommodation) – assistance provided to International students to ensure access to accommodation that is safe and conducive to learning.
