John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

Date posted: March 27, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from? But I
have not come of my own accord; he who sent me is true, and him you do not know. I know him, for I come
from him, and he sent me.” So they sought to arrest him; but no one laid hands on him, because his hour
had not yet come.

Reflection
Jesus took advantage of spreading His message to the crowd during the Jewish feast. He claimed that He
has a unique relationship with God and He knew God better than anyone else. The Jews regard this idea as
blasphemy. This tells us that to know more about Jesus’ teachings leads us to know more about God. How
do we strengthen and deepen our understanding to God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity
and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” In the gospel, Jesus willingly
followed what was commanded to Him. He went to proclaim and spread the message to the crowd. What
He did was part of His mission. This is also the same mission of St. La Salle, always doing things for other
people and for God’s name to be blessed.

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
