Luke 1:1-4, 4:14-21

Date posted: January 27, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Luke 1:1-4, 4:14-21
Since many have undertaken to set down an orderly account of the events that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed on to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word, I too decided, after investigating everything carefully from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the truth concerning the things about which you have been instructed. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Reflection
We are given the luxury to have pleasure on material things, experiences, and such; but, we must not forget about our brothers and sisters who need us in times of their needs. In addition, it is very important that we glorify God in everything we do. We should follow his commands and spread the Gospel. When we are serving others, we are also serving God. Are we willing to spread love and positivity?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” Sometimes our passion and dreams are not aligned with each other. However we continue to work hard to achieve it. Whatever it may be, keep in mind that the world doesn’t only revolve on us as a single person. We also have to be in service for others. Life is not just about the fun and sunrise, sometimes it also the challenges us by rain and that makes it more memorable. Remember that wealth and intelligence mean nothing if we do not have a heart for serving the humanity. We are lasallians so we should all be together as one family.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, you are the fulfillment of all our hopes and dreams. Through the gift of your Holy Spirit you bring us truth, freedom, and abundant life. Fill us with the joy of the Gospel and inflame our hearts with a burning love for you and a deep thirst for your word. This we pray, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist De La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
