Luke 17: 33-37

Date posted: November 15, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 17: 33-37
“Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left.” And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Reflection
What are the repercussions of our actions regarding the preservation of self? The gospel teaches us that we do not own our self. It was only given and lent to us by God. We are reminded to avoid self- preservation and return everything to our Creator. When was the last time that you have sacrificed for God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principles, “the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out His saving plan.” As Lasallians, we are called to preserve the dignity of the people we are serving under in our care. As SJBDLS says, “You must pray not only for yourself but also for those whom you are guiding.” Let us be a living image of Christ for others.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
