Luke 17:5-10

Date posted: October 6, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 17:5-10
“The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, `Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” “Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, `Come at once and sit down  at table’?  Will he not rather say to him, `Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, `We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'”

Reflection
The Gospel is all about faith as giving your complete trust or confidence to someone. The apostles asked Lord for the increase of their faith. We cannot see God and our faith decides to have faith in Him. Faith can lead us to true happiness. Without faith things would not turn out right for us no matter what the situation might be. I pray that the people who are losing faith may be lead back to God. I also pray for a strong trust in God’s loving mercy.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to judge and evaluate things in the light of the gospel.” If we manifest the spirit of faith we can distinguish right from wrong. People are called live in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. As a future nurse we will take good care people who need proper medication. If all lasallians will follow the founder all challenges will be conquered. The strength and inspiration comes from a God who heals.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit You love us and offer us the gift of association. You call us to live with joy. You invite us to be people with a creative inner life. Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel our inner life will grow. And that we will be credible witnesses Together with the entire Lasallian Family In the midst of our world. We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
