Luke 8: 1-3

Date posted: September 20, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the most holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

LUKE 8: 1-3
Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

REFLECTION
How are women considered in your country, your community or in your church? The gospel describes Jesus who goes through the villages and towns of Galilee, and the unusualness is that He was not only accompanied by men disciples, but also by women who decided to follow Him. The gospel tells us that all people who stood by to our Lord are amazing and wonderful. We need in the church devoted women, faithful in providing the needs of our Lord, faithful in staying with Him even in danger, and faithful even after His death. I pray for all people especially women for them to be strong and never be discouraged by discrimination.

LASALLIAN GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Spirit of Faith is a spirit that allows one to discover God’s active presence in his word, in men and women, in the poor, in nature, in history, and in ourselves. Saint Luke always speaks favourably of women, and highlights their positive response to Jesus. As a Lasallian, I think both men and women should be at the same level because all of them follow Jesus. We should follow Jesus in order for Him to accept and love us.

ONE LIFE PRAYER
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with you grace so that we will live the values of the gospel
Our inner life will grow.
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
