Luke 8:16-18

Date posted: September 23, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 8:16-18
16 “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light. 18 Take heed then how you hear; for to him who has will more be given, and from him who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.”

Reflection
Do you consider God as your light? If so, how does it manifest in your life? A lamp enables people to see and work in the dark inorder to prevent anyone from falling and making any mistakes. It is God who kindles our light in ways that we are able to value His goodness, the truth, and one’s pure essence. I pray for every follower to listen and carry out His words by means of significant actions, because through this, we become the light that is designed to shine and to guide, without any concealing.

LGP
As stated in the LGP, the spirit of faith provides an opportunity to discover God’s dynamic presence through his Words. This principle is mirrored whenever lasallians express their faith in the beginning of a prayer: “Let us remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.” St. John Baptist De La Salle ensured that lasallian students must engage themselves to assess the light of the Gospel. In this way, His teachings are taken into a deeper meaning which encompasses the faith with the presence of God. Also, this encourages students to gain more awareness that everyone should have in order to reignite their hearts to God’s saving light.

One Life One Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to love with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel
Our inner life will grow.
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian family
In the midst of the world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady if the Star, pray for us.
