Mark 3:31-35

Date posted: January 29, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Mark 3:31-35
Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, ‘Your mother and your brothers and sisters * are outside, asking for you.’ And he replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking at those who sat around him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.’

Reflection
Often, we hear the phrase “Brothers and Sisters in Christ”. This applies to the given gospel since we are all connected to each other through God who created us in His image and through Jesus who saved us from eternal damnation. This gives us the power to reach out to everybody regardless of religious beliefs. This is also the message of the Gospel; we are all children of God, in good times and in bad. We are all connected to one another though there may be times our connections are lost behind the lies of prejudice, discrimination, and indifference. We should not let those hindrances stop us from reaching out to those who are in need of our help.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” As brothers and sisters in this world we live in, we acknowledge our being as created in the image and likeness of our one true God. We share all the blessings showered upon us in everything we do, see, hear and possess. We learn to share, love, and forgiveness all that may come our way. We share everything we have to others, we love everyone as God loves us, and we forgive everyone as God forgives the sins we have done. And through this may we come together and grow like good citizens we were made to be patterned in the life of our founder St. John Baptist De La Salle.

Prayer
Lord God, we thank you for this wonderful life you have given us. We are eternally grateful for blessing us with glorious chances and life experiences. We are deeply sorry for all the wrong things we have done. Please continue to shower us with blessings and wisdom that we may use in our day to day lives. Please grant this world peace and harmony for eternity. This we pray, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist De La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
